Raimund Burke, Pressrelease (01.11.07):On his debut album the 36 year old German guitarist Raimund Burke from Hamburg presents his very own style somewhere between Joe Satriani und Dream Theatre. When he was 16 years old he took guitar lessons for half a year and from thereon taught himself how to play.
Shortly after he began to write his own songs which he played with his first band INVERNESS with band colleagues Peter Breitenbach ((Warhead, Grave Digger) and Bjoern Eilen (Warhead, Rebllion). Burkes musical talent was soon recognized and in 1990 he participated in classes for popular music at the Musikhochschule, Hamburg.
During that time Raimund recorded a three-song demo which caused quite a stir. He struggled through several jobs in order to be able to record and produce professionally.
After a tough physical relapse - he had nerv problems in his left hand - he was put out of action for several years. During this time Roland Grapow asked him for a ballad for his solo album. Roland revised the arrangement of “Dedicated to...?” and published the song on “The Four Seasons Of Life”. The song was especially liked in Japan.
Raimund worked hard to overcome his illness and finally succeeded. His debut album “Get It” shows this remarkably. He already has ideas and started working on his second album, which shall not disappoint compared to his first work.
Raimund’s style on “Get It’ is influenced by e.g. Dream Theatre and Joe Satriani or Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy. There are double bass whammers (“Break through”) but also sensitive ballads (“Dedicated to...?” or “Balance”). All in all a new hard rock CD with a unique song collection.
