Ole Ask: (06.08.2007)

My myspace friend Ole Ask started out his music career in 1993 playing bars and coffee houses in Minneapolis and Toronto. And before that he had a numerous of bands ever since he was a teenager.

Often compared to big time musicians like Springsteen, Adams and Cocker, his music takes you down the path of honest emotions and classic rock.  He’s been travelling back and fourth between Norway and USA since 1993, and done four albums in the US so fare… the fifth is to come.

Ole Ask & Ask the Band where established in the early -90’s. Ole has throughout the years had the honour of working with some of finest musicians around, in both Norway and USA. For the time being he’s writing songs for album number five.

You can check him out at his homepage or at his myspace page. You can also check out some of his reviews here: 1 (norwegian) , 2, 3

Henchman (04.14.2007) California, summer 2003 – Three handsome guys step out of the plane in San Francisco with their instruments on their back, knowing that they will spend the next three months in a rusty van and cheap motels. There is only one gig confirmed at that moment, but they don’t care about such details, nothing can spoil their motivation to rock out.

And they were right. They made it to 15 Gigs from Seattle to LA, a Live TV show and, finally, a contract with US star-producer Sylvia Massy (System of a Down, Tool, Powerman 5000, etc.). Their following in the states proved to be loyal and started growing. Read on

The Talkies (03.04.2007) - History: Bjoern Eilen moved from Frankfurt back to Osnabrueck in spring 2005 with 20 songs written for THE TALKIES and a self recorded 9 track demo CD containing songs like "Runaway Child", "Radio", "Goodbye" and "Paradise" (which is the title track of the debut CD).

Bjoern knew that these songs have the great spirit of the 70’s , while dealing with today’s problems. He brings back this spirit, influenced by great artists like Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Iggy Pop, The Doors, Led Zeppelin or Cat Stevens, with a touch of alternative pop tunes. Bjoern went through hard times for the last several years, fighting to create a reputation and publicity for THE TALKIES. This may be the reason why he catches this certain spirit you will not find elsewhere. His is a real rock ’n roll life, never giving up, never surrendering, putting all his energy into his songs. You can check out The Talkies official website here, or on their Myspace profile
